living wall ii
Residency at River Valley Waldorf School. Upper Black Eddy, PA
In November 2018 I worked with all of the students at River Valley Waldorf school to create a living wall for their school. Every student, grades K-8, learned about fiber arts, wet felting and the importance of our environment and green spaces. These lessons weren’t new to any of the students as Waldorf schools have integrated so many of these wonderful elements into their curriculum. During this program the students were able to expand on their knowledge of wet felting and really explore the different sculptural techniques we worked on. The honeycomb design of this particular living wall was laid out and felted by the students and used to represent their community and the celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the Waldorf Education system.
