Living Wall III
Residency at Miller Heights Elementary. Bethlehem, PA
In March 2020, I worked with the entire elementary school student body at Miller Heights in Bethlehem, PA to create a living wall for their school. Over the course of three weeks, I worked with each art class over three classes to teach them about wet felting, collaboration and the importance of our environment and sustainability. Every student was able to participate by working on different felted forms that would create the garden.
Our program was cut short by Coronavirus by closing the school but the project continued through me in my studio. I was able to film the completion of the piece in my studio and share it through the school with all of the students who participated. The finished living wall now hangs at their school.
